Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring systems include a temperature sensing device with built-in communication hardware that connects to our subscription cellular network. When the device is powered and connected to a cellular network, it sends temperature readings to the cloud where they are stored and then uploaded for your viewing on the dashboard 24/7. History of temperature data is downloadable in .CSV format for your records. The Remo-Tel constantly measures temperature against a safe range that you specify. If the temperature goes outside the safe range or if the power to the device is lost, the Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring system immediately makes a cellular call to our server to report the issue and sends alerts to users that you have designated in the device settings on the dashboard.

Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring systems use the AT&T cellular network and can be installed for operation in the USA and Canada.

The Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring system operates on a unique subscription network plan and has no effect on your existing cellular contract.

All Remo-Tel smart devices contain an internal Lithium Ion backup battery that is contantly charging when power is supplied. When the power supply is disconnected, the fully charged backup battery will operate up to 48 hours. Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring systems continue to record hourly readings during this period. Should temperature go out of your preset “safe range” during this time, an alert will immediately be sent to you. Once power is restored, the Remo-Tel system will immediately send a “Power Restored” alert and begin to re-charge the backup battery. Compost Remo-Tel smart devices are powered by an external rechargeable battery pack. When this battery dies, the internal backup takes over and will alert you of low battery. The internal backup re-charges upon replacement of the external battery pack.

Alerts are immediately sent to users by text, email, and/or phone when the device senses low battery, power outage, or temperature outside the user defined safe range. View this chart for more information.

Yes, if you do not power off the device. Holding the power button until the indicator light turns off will prevent the power outage alert.

Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring systems are designed to ignore small power glitches and brown outs which can be common in some areas of the country.

The power needs to be off to the outlet for about 8-10 seconds before the Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring system reports it as a power outage.

Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring systems operate similarly to a cell phone, and there may be some places where cellular reception is not particularly strong. Signal strength can also be affected by electrical interference, atmospheric conditions, network traffic, physical obstacles, etc. If your Remo-Tel device fails to connect, the first thing to try is to move it to a different location in the area you want to monitor. Typically higher floors will have better reception than basements. Also, large metal objects (air handling units, metal walls/roofs, etc.) could inhibit cellular signals from reaching the device, sopositioning it near a window may be better for reception. If, after repositioning your Remo-Tel device and trying different locations in the area you want to monitor, you are still unable to connect, please contact our support line.

To prevent users from receiving multiple alarms for the same issue, we have designed the Remo-Tel smart temperature monitoring system to remain in alarm mode until the device is reading within at least 3 points (either degrees or percentage) into your defined safe temperature range.

A system like Remo-Tel automates temperature data logging and provides a 24/7 online monitoring dashboard. By detecting temperature excursions instantly, the system delivers immediate alerts that allow personnel to react before critical product or system failures occur, mitigating risk and preventing costly product loss.

The Remo-Tel system uses wireless temperature sensors to automatically collect data at preset intervals and transmit it to a secure cloud platform. This eliminates manual logging, saves labor, and provides a continuous, tamper-proof record for regulatory compliance and lean manufacturing analysis.

Yes. The Remo-Tel Smart System is specifically designed to provide instant smart alerts via text message, email, or a web dashboard when a monitored temperature deviates outside of your pre-set high or low limits. This ensures immediate intervention for time-sensitive applications like refrigeration or brewing.

Remo-Tel devices include built-in backup battery power to ensure continuous operation and data collection during a main power loss. The system is designed to store data locally and transmit it once connectivity is restored, maintaining the integrity of your 24/7 monitoring record.

Any process with sensitive temperature requirements—including refrigeration, brewing, molding, HVAC, and food processing—can benefit. Remo-Tel is ideal for applications where continuous monitoring is critical to quality, operational performance, and risk management.
