  • What type connector do I need for my RTD probe assembly?
    If you're connecting into an existing system, find out what type of connector is installed. The most common connector is the M12 but LP-U, LJ-U, or others are sometimes used as well. The RTD transmitter output should be the male (pin) side and the system should be the female (socket) side. The key is to find the type used in the system and find the compatible mate.
  • What type connector do I need for my Pressure Transmitter?
    A very common connector for pressure transmitters in the mini DIN style, although others are sometimes used, depending on the application. As with RTD probe assemblies, the key is ensure it is compatible with the mate for existing installations.

  • What water resistance rating do I need?
    NEMA 4 or IP67 (NEMA 6) are common ratings for both the sensor assemblies and the connectors they mate to. With environmental ratings it's vital to understand the conditions it will be exposed to and choose the connector recommended for that situation.
  • Do I need a connector at all?
    Connectors are installed for convenience when disconnecting the unit from the system for the purpose of removing or replacing the sensor. The connector can be located at the sensor or the control panel, whichever is most convenient. Generally speaking you should install as few connectors as possible.
  • Do I need a straight or right angle connector?
    The back shell of a connector sometimes comes in a straight (cable exits in line with connector) or right angle (cable exits 90° from the connector). Right angle connectors are generally preferred when space is limited.
