Two Point Calibration

One question we hear frequently is, "Why use two point calibration?"

Two point calibration provides a more accurate correction of the sensor output by re-scaling it at two points instead of just one. The process involves correcting both slope and offset errors. Two point calibration is best used in cases where the sensor output is reasonably linear over the full range.

The two point calibration process for temperature is typically performed by making an adjustment against a known reference temperature using a device such as the Tel-Tru Check-Set® calibrator. This process will adjust the "Raw" output to match the "Reference" data.

Today, most sensors are available with calibration software, which helps make the calibration process quick and easy.
